- Level 1 qualifies you to teach in the closed environment of an artificial slope or indoor snow dome. Training and assessment may be carried out on a dry slope, in a snowdome or in the mountains.
Level 2: qualifies you to teach for a recognised ski school on marked runs within the boundary of the ski area. This qualification is aimed at the part-time instructor who teaches a few weeks a season.

- Level 3 qualifies you to teach on snow for a recognised ski school. Depending on the laws of individual countries and specific ski school rules, you are permitted to take clients off-piste within the boundaries of the ski area and where the ski patrol operates. This qualification is aimed at the full-time seasonal instructor and it is envisaged that you would gain experience teaching higher levels and potentially delivering staff training.
Level 4 is the highest level qualification and allows you to work for a ski school or as an independent instructor (depending on the laws of individual countries).

There are 4 levels of qualification:
Level 1 Artificial Ski Slope Instructor
Level 2 Alpine Ski Instructor
Level 3: Ski Teacher (IASI)
Level 4 National Skii Teacher (IASI)
- The Levels are progressive - you must qualify at one level before tackling the next one.
